While in Eureka Springs, Arkansas this past week I came across an interesting place called Quigley's Castle.
The home was owned by Elise Quigley an immigrant from Italy. Mrs. Quigley was born in 1910 and moved to the Ozarks when she was 9 years old.
The thing that makes this house so peculiar is that Mrs. Quigley grew plants inside the house. These were not typical house plant either some of these plants grew to a height of two stories.
There were hundreds of different types of plants and flowers growing on the property along with some very interesting stone and concrete work.
Elise Quigley died in 1984 and her granddaughter is now the owner and caretaker of the property. Her grandmother?s story is an interesting one and Quigley's Castle is worth a look if you are ever in the Eureka Springs, Arkansas area.
